What is Oil Pulling (OP)?
Oil Pulling is a safe, simple, cheap and gentle ‘do it
yourself home remedy’ that cures and prevents diseases and extends your healthy
life.
It involves rinsing the mouth with 1 tablespoon (10ml) of oil for 15 to 20
minutes and spitting it out. You can use either sunflower oil or sesame oil,
both of which are usually used for cooking and readily available in the
home.
This simple therapy is completely harmless as you do not take any medicines
- even the oil you use is spit out after OP. By helping the body get rid of
toxins that have accumulated, Oil Pulling promotes self healing from within.
Oil Pulling has been mentioned in the ancient texts of Ayurveda. A similar
process was also published at a conference of the “All Ukrainische Union, “of
the oncologists (Specialists for tumor diseases) and bacteriologists, by
Dr.med. Karach. Over the years, this simple therapy helped cure diseases of
thousands of people around the world.
I am going to start tomorrow with sunflower seed oil. I have severe stomach problems and allergies year around. So lets see what happens. I also read that you should add 1 drop of WILD oregano oil to the oil for one week about every thress months. You should also switch to a different oil every two months. Make sure you do not swallow or actaully gargle the oil BUT make sure it get to your back teeth and in between your teeth.

Butterbur Herb
MAYBE a potential herb for a decline in allergy symptoms, headaches and migraines
See all 2 photos
Butterbur - The Plant
Butterbur (Petasites vulgaris) is an herb that is found in Europe and parts of Asia and Africa. The leaves are large and spiky and can grow to as large as two feet wide. Butterbur is also known as Sweet Coltsfoot, Butterfly Dock and Umbrella leaves. Butterbur is common in England and can be found growing in marshy areas. It is thought that Butterbur got it's name because the large leaves were used to wrap butter to keep it cool.
Butterbur to Prevent Allergies
Historically, Butterbur was used for cough, asthma, and other respiratory problems. A study published in the January 2002 issue of the British Medical Journal showed the Butterbur extract was as effective as the antihistamine Zyrtec (cetrizine) in relieving allergy symptoms. The herb was also less likely to cause drowsiness.
Butterbur to Prevent Migraines
In clinical studies Butterbur has been shown to decrease the incidence of migraine headaches by up to 50% versus those taking a placebo. It is thought that the active ingredients in Butterbur, petasin and isopetasin, reduces inflammation in the blood vessels, thus preventing migraine headaches.
To achieve the best results, the study participants took 75mg of Butterbur extract twice a day. Those taking lower doses of Butterbur extract (50mg twice a day) also had a significant decrease in the number of migraines compared to those taking a placebo.

Side Effects of Butterbur
It is important to note that although Butterbur is a natural herb, it is not without side effects. Butterbur in its natural state contains pyrrolizidine alkaloids. Pyrrolizidine alkaloids are toxic to the liver and can cause cancer.
Butterbur should only be taken as a standardized supplement (such as Petadolex) that is labeled PA-free.
Butterbur is also a member of the ragweed family and can actually worsen allergies in people with ragweed allergies. Don't take Butterbur if you are allergic to ragweed or daisies.
Minor side effects can include stomach problems, headache, and fatigue.

Fodder Wheat Grass & Sprouts
I let the Wheat Grass grow to about 6-8" for my Goats and pony
No soil needed in growing Wheat Grass
This is how it looks right after you take the newspaper off and allow it to get some light.
I also grow them in clam shells for me and for the pony as a one serving size
You can see the tails starting to form. I keep them in the dark until you see the yellow grass growing. Notice I also put sunflower seeds and whole oats in the mix

Powerful Cucumber
THE CUCUMBER
>1. Cucumbers contain most of the vitamins you need every day, just one cucumber contains Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid, Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium and Zinc.
>2. Feeling tired in the afternoon, put down the caffeinated soda and pick up a cucumber.. Cucumbers are a good source of B Vitamins and Carbohydrates that can provide that quick pick-me-up that can last for hours.
>3. Tired of your bathroom mirror fogging up after a shower? Try rubbing a cucumber slice along the mirror, it will eliminate the fog and provide a soothing, spa-like fragrance.
>4. Are grubs and slugs ruining your planting beds? Place a few slices in a small pie tin and your garden will be free of pests all season long. The chemicals in the cucumber react with the aluminum to give off a scent undetectable to humans but drive garden pests crazy and make them flee the area.
>5 Looking for a fast and easy way to remove cellulite before going out or to the pool? Try rubbing a slice or two of cucumbers along your problem area for a few minutes, the phytochemicals in the cucumber cause the collagen in your skin to tighten, firming up the outer layer and reducing the visibility of cellulite. Works great on wrinkles too!!!
>6. Want to avoid a hangover or terrible headache? Eat a few cucumber slices before going to bed and wake up refreshed and headache free. Cucumbers contain enough sugar, B vitamins and electrolytes to replenish essential nutrients the body lost, keeping everything in equilibrium, avoiding both a hangover and headache!!
>7. Looking to fight off that afternoon or evening snacking binge? Cucumbers have been used for centuries and often used by European trappers, traders and explores for quick meals to thwart off starvation.
>8. Have an important meeting or job interview and you realize that you don't have enough time to polish your shoes? Rub a freshly cut cucumber over the shoe, its chemicals will provide a quick and durable shine that not only looks great but also repels water.
>9. Out of WD 40 and need to fix a squeaky hinge? Take a cucumber slice and rub it along the problematic hinge, and voila, the squeak is gone!
>10. Stressed out and don't have time for massage, facial or visit to the spa? Cut up an entire cucumber and place it in a boiling pot of water, the chemicals and nutrients from the cucumber with react with the boiling water and be released in the steam, creating a soothing, relaxing aroma that has been shown the reduce stress in new mothers and college students during final exams.
>11. Just finish a business lunch and realize you don't have gum or mints? Take a slice of cucumber and press it to the roof of your mouth with your tongue for 30 seconds to eliminate bad breath, the phytochemcials will kill the bacteria in your mouth responsible for causing bad breath.
>12. Looking for a 'green' way to clean your faucets, sinks or stainless steel? Take a slice of cucumber and rub it on the surface you want to clean, not only will it remove years of tarnish and bring back the shine, but is won't leave streaks and won't harm you fingers or fingernails while you clean.

Hanna and her English speaking fish
This is Hanna Hostetler. Hanna and her brother Mathew came over today to fish with their
Grandfather. Hanna is about 4 years old and her brother Mathew is about 3 years old. Well Hanna
was not very excited about fishing UNTIL I told her that the fish spoke English and in order for her to catch her own fish she had to speek English.

Amish family wecomes number TEN child Loyl
Yesterday I stopped by the Hostetlers, an Amish family friend of the family, to see the latest number TEN, yes ten, child. Loyl is a LITTLE boy with redish hair. Loyl is a fussy baby, so I am told by his bothers. His 6 brothers and 3 sisters DOTE over him. The household stops when baby Loyl cries. The love and care that the brothers and sisters have between each other is a strong bond that you can actually feel as soon as you enter the farm. If you are thinking this sounds like the Waltons then I got my point across. Yes it feels and kind of looks like the Waltons only it is the Hostetlers.

Homemade dishwasher soap
Homemade Dishwasher Soap Recipe:
Ingredients:
• 2 cups borax
• 2 cups Arm and Hammer Washing Soda
• 2 cups unsweetened lemonade (about 50 packets) or two cups lemi shine or
Citric Acid
(http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0017WFX6G/ref=nosim/debtfreeadventure-2\
0)
• 1 cup Kosher salt
Mix all ingredients well and store in airtight container. Use 1 tablespoon per
load in the dishwasher.
*The Lemonade or Citric acid is the key to not getting the milky, cloudy look
after time. I like using the lemonade; however it can stain the dish soap
dispenser a lemon yellow color, but it smells really good.
Fill rinse dispenser with Vinegar to help cut any residue.
